1. Why are you leaving current role?

This is almost a common question asked to know the reason for leaving the past job. The purpose is to establish the knowledge of you being a flaky person jumping from one to another role.


2. Why do you want this role in this particular business?

Firms looking for financial services always wish to know why you have done this research and also if you know the company is evolving and developing. The key is to come with interesting and something current answer and must be turning the question to the interviewer as can you tell on this more; I noticed your company did this. The purpose is to confirm the interviewer you really need this job and are not scattering like birdseed your CVs.


3. Tell me a situation you handled differently.

Financial institutions such as banks always try to find out how much reliable you are and if you are putting your best interests before theirs or not. They just wish to ascertain you are not embarrassing them or making them spend money. The aim is to not quote any example that gives the hiring person to think much. 6. Walk through your resume

Layoffs are in finance roles and so a CV needs to be literally walked through. It needs to be explained. Just go through and explain the reason of each. Even if you have changed jobs, give a justifying answer. If you have supportive documents you can inform them. The purpose is to check the person to understand if he or she is making fickle career decisions.


7. What are your aspirations?

This is again a common question and wishes to know how you will get to a position and where you want to be. Your hiring company’s purpose is to confirm you are keen in this role and are not considering it as a stopgap.
