You will report directly to the Tax Director and the Treasurer, with a line to the CFO and Executive Leadership at times. Corporate Tax Accountant Summary:

As a Corporate Tax Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with tax regulations and optimizing our tax position. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and government agencies to manage tax-related matters effectively. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

Corporate Tax Accountant Duties:

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file federal, state, and local corporate tax returns accurately and in a timely manner.
• Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
• Review and analyze financial data to identify potential tax issues and opportunities for optimization.

Tax Planning:

• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the tax implications of business decisions, transactions, and investments.
• Provide guidance on tax-efficient structures for domestic and international operations.

Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related financial disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
• Collaborate with external auditors during tax audits and reviews.

Tax Risk Management:

• Assess tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate exposure.
• Conduct tax research and analysis to support tax positions and resolve tax-related issues.
• Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.

Relationship Management:

• Build and maintain relationships with tax authorities, external advisors, and other stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for tax inquiries and correspondence.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on tax-related matters, including transfer pricing, acquisitions, and restructuring.

Corporate Tax Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree is a plus BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER BY ANY MEANS.
• 2+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporation or public accounting firm.
• In-depth knowledge of US tax laws and regulations, including corporate income tax and international tax concepts.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
