Zigzag is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our team!

Job Overview:

For this position, you will be reporting to an Australian company that provides engineering services to major industrial and mining companies.

The team is growing and requires an ELECTRICAL DESIGNER POWER SYSTEMS to join this dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The role would involve:

Design Tasks

  • Design and develop Electrical and Control deliverables such as: Single-Line Diagram, Schematic Diagram, Interconnection Diagrams, General Arrangement Drawings, I/O Lists, Cable Schedule, Bill of Materials, Load List, Instrument List, etc.

  • Interpret and comply with various drafting, document control, quality control procedures, client specifications, and local and international standards.

  • Communicate with engineers to understand job requirements and interpret engineering notes.

  • Provide service across a range of Power, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control disciplines so a broad engineering knowledge is an advantage.

  • Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Trello.

  • Power Systems Tasks

  • Perform power system studies such as power system modeling, one line diagram, load flow study, short circuit study, protective coordination study, and arc flash study; author technical reports.

  • Utilise power system software such as SKM PTW, ETAP, PowerCAD, PowerPac, and TemCurve.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree Electrical Engineering.

  • Background in Oil & Gas/Mining/Water/Power/Industrial industry.

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in Electrical industry.

  • Experience in Power System Analysis.

  • Experience in AutoCAD.

  • Experience in commissioning desirable.

  • Personal Skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, particularly in English language.

  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • Acute attention to detail and appreciation for quality in design documentation.

  • Excellent computer skills.

    Working Conditions

    MUST HAVE:

    Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET Accredited University program is required
    Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
    12+ years’ experience in specialized discipline.
    Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
    Professional Engineer License
    Proficient in Microsoft Office
    Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)
    Understanding and application of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
