Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic, repair, and maintenance work on a variety of vessels and systems

  • Deliver efficient, high-quality service that meets company standards and customer timelines

  • Recommend ways to improve job efficiency and profitability

  • Ensure thorough diagnostics are completed prior to beginning any job

  • Communicate clearly with service advisors and clients

  • Work safely and maintain a clean, organized workspace

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions as needed


Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • College degree or technical certifications (ABYC, manufacturer-specific) preferred

  • 4+ years’ experience as a marine technician (leisure and commercial)

  • Strong general technician skills; marine electrical, mechanical, rigging, and propulsion experience preferred

  • Ability to maneuver vessels with or without auxiliary propulsion is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license


Schedule & Compensation:

  • Full-time: Monday – Friday

  • 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)

  • Occasional overtime may be available

  • Hourly wage based on experience, plus monthly bonus opportunities

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
MUST HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET Accredited University program is required
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
12+ years’ experience in specialized discipline.
Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
Professional Engineer License
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)
Understanding and application of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
