Reports To: Production Manager or Operations Supervisor

Job Overview: The Production Operator is responsible for operating machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing process.

This role includes ensuring product quality, adhering to safety standards, and maintaining equipment in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and equipment according to the production plan.
  • Monitor the manufacturing process and make adjustments as needed to meet production goals.
  • Inspect products for quality and specifications, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output and issues.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, reporting any malfunctions.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
  • Keep the production area clean, organized, and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production role.
  • Familiarity with industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Understanding of production and safety standards in the manufacturing industry.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity for operating machinery and handling materials.

Work Environment: The role is based in a manufacturing plant or factory, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Safety gear is provided and required.

Physical Requirements: This position requires standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and lifting materials up to a certain weight.

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
MUST HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET Accredited University program is required
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
12+ years’ experience in specialized discipline.
Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
Professional Engineer License
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)
Understanding and application of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
