Job Skills / Requirements

This position is located at the Calgary International Airport to provide gender specific female pat-downs for all non-civilian passengers in the specified terminal area.

• Provide exceptional customer service and assistance and sustain effective relationships with clients and patrons
• De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire and paramedic resources
• Exercise crowd control
• Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
• Handle inquires
• Working a variety of hours, afternoons and evenings included.
• Conducting pat-down searches on same gender staff.
• Confiscation of prohibited items.
• Access control - Terminal entry and exit points.
• Ability to adapt to different situations and communicate with a variety of individuals
• All other duties as assigned.
• PLEASE NOTE: Paladin Security may apply a gender-specific (male or female) hiring preference to fill this position, in order to meet the occupational requirements of same gender pat-downs
Job Requirements

• Currently hold a valid Alberta Security license
• Hold a valid RED Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) or have ability to work with manager to obtain one.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
MUST HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET Accredited University program is required
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
12+ years’ experience in specialized discipline.
Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
Professional Engineer License
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)
Understanding and application of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
