About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Facility Services, the Technical Maintenance Coordinator (Recreation Facilities) is responsible for coordinating, directing, and inspecting the operations, maintenance, and repair of City Recreation Facilities, with a focus on refrigeration plants and pool mechanical systems. This position provides direction and technical expertise to maintenance and technical staff, ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective management of recreation facilities. The incumbent will exercise independent judgment in resolving operational challenges and will collaborate with the Manager on major projects, repairs, and system upgrades.

This is an excellent opportunity for a safety-conscious coordinator with strong technical expertise and supervisory experience in facility maintenance, particularly in recreation facility management. The successful candidate will hold a 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate and a diploma in Building Technology, HVAC Technology, or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution. Additionally, the candidate should have three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience, including at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity. Thorough knowledge of building maintenance principles, regulations, and best practices, with a focus on refrigeration and aquatic systems, is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The annual salary for this position is $103,896 based on a 40-hour work week and is supplemented by a competitive total compensation plan.

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
MUST HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering from an ABET Accredited University program is required
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
12+ years’ experience in specialized discipline.
Experience designing and specifying HVAC and plumbing systems of various sizes and complexities
Professional Engineer License
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and building load simulation programs (IESVE and Carrier HAP preferred)
Understanding and application of building, energy, and mechanical/plumbing codes.
