Role- Sr. QA Engineer (Web Applications)

Location: 100% remote

Position: Fulltime/ Contractual

Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled and proactive QA Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join our team and ensure the quality and reliability of our React/Next.js applications. You will be responsible for defining and executing comprehensive test strategies, identifying and documenting issues, and contributing to a seamless user experience. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with developers and product teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Execution:

• Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and strategies for both manual and automated testing.
• Work closely with the development and product teams to understand requirements and ensure optimal test coverage.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on web applications.

Automation:

• Build and maintain robust automation frameworks using tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Automate regression testing and repetitive tasks to ensure faster delivery cycles.
• Identify and prioritize areas for automation based on application workflows and business
• needs.

Cross-Browser and Device Testing:

• Ensure compatibility across various browsers and devices, including mobile and desktop platforms.
• Leverage tools for browser testing and device simulation.

API Testing:

• Test REST and GraphQL APIs using tools like Postman or similar.
• Verify data integrity and back-end functionality during application testing.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with developers during the development process to identify potential quality issues early.
• Provide feedback on UX/UI issues to ensure a user-friendly experience.
• Participate in code reviews to understand implementation and identify potential issues.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of test cases, bugs, and testing results.
• Provide regular updates to the team on testing progress, risks, and quality metrics.

Skills and Experience:

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Proficiency in testing web applications (React.js/Next.js are preferred).
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Playwright, Selenium).
• Familiarity with debugging tools, browser developer tools, and performance profiling.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating QA processes into workflows. (Preferred)
• Understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, Lighthouse) and performance optimization tools (e.g., WebPageTest, GTmetrix).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members.

Preferred Experience:

• Working on React.js and Next.js applications in a production environment.
• Experience with performance testing and load testing tools.
• Knowledge of containerized environments using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like GitHub project, Jira, Asana, or Trello.
• Exposure to UX/UI testing and understanding user-centric design principles.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in QA roles, with a focus on web applications.
• Proven track record of working in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
• Experience with manual and automated testing for modern web applications.
