JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AN EXPERT PRODUCT MARKET RESEARCHER AND SOURCING SPECIALIST Your Responsibilities as an Expert Product Market Researcher and Sourcing Specialist would be: Utilize tools like Google Trends, marketplace platforms, and specialized software to identify trending and high-potential products. Analyze customer pain points, assess problem severity, and estimate financial/time-saving value. Conduct competitive analysis and compile product matrices summarizing key data such as potential sales, profit margins, risks, and advertising costs. Estimate customer acquisition costs and analyze certification requirements for the Australian market. Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, primarily in China, ensuring credibility and reliability. Negotiate key supplier terms including MOQ, pricing, lead times, payment terms, and certifications. Ensure supplier compliance with Australian standards and coordinate QA inspections. Secure exclusivity agreements or profit-sharing arrangements to protect market position. Focus on sourcing two key product types: o Type A: High RRP ($500$2,000), low volume, <25kg, <0.12m, low complexity, 12-month reliability. o Type B: High-volume, RRP $50+, <2kg, tech component managed in Australia, 5+ units/order. Qualifications as an Expert Product Market Researcher and Sourcing Specialist: Proven experience in product sourcing, market research, or procurement (especially for Australian or international markets). Strong negotiation skills and familiarity working with Chinese suppliers. Proficiency in market research tools (e.g., Google Trends, marketplace analytics). Analytical mindset with ability to assess risks, profitability, and market potential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for supplier and internal coordination. Detail-oriented with strong project management and multitasking capabilities. Knowledge of international shipping, certification, and quality control processes is a plus.
