Job Description:


  1. Coding and Abstracting: Assign accurate alphanumeric codes to medical diagnoses, procedures, and services using standard coding systems such as ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System). Abstract pertinent information from medical records and translate it into appropriate codes.
  2. Medical Documentation Review: Analyze medical records, including physician notes, laboratory and radiology reports, and other relevant documentation, to extract essential information for coding purposes. Ensure that the documentation supports the codes assigned and adhere to coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  3. Compliance: Stay updated with coding guidelines, regulations, and policies issued by relevant authorities, such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the American Medical Association (AMA), and private insurance companies. Adhere to legal and ethical standards related to patient confidentiality and data security.
  4. Billing and Reimbursement: Work closely with billing and reimbursement departments to ensure accurate and timely submission of coded claims to insurance companies or government programs. Assist in resolving coding-related denials or discrepancies, and provide necessary documentation to support claims.
  5. Quality Assurance: Perform regular audits and quality checks on coded data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with coding guidelines. Identify and address coding errors or discrepancies and provide feedback to healthcare providers for documentation improvement.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and obtain necessary information for coding accuracy. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve coding-related issues and provide coding education as needed.
  7. Technology and Software: Utilize coding software, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and other relevant technologies to facilitate efficient and accurate coding processes. Stay proficient in using coding tools and stay updated with emerging technologies in the field.

Qualifications and Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or health information management or related field only.
  • CPC Certification is mandatory
  • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other relevant coding systems.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, reimbursement methodologies, and coding guidelines (e.g., CMS, AMA).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work with complex medical documentation.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with coding software and electronic health record systems is preferred.

CUSTOMER
  • Conduct a variety of complex investigations, including AML, Sanctions/ABAC and Financial Crime

  • Lead work stream by acting as a project lead for large or complex projects/initiatives in accordance with project management methodologies
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes/services and recommend/champion possible enhancements
  • Recommend improvements to escalation processes within the investigative unit and a feedback mechanism to relevant stakeholders.
  • Plan and deliver efficient and cost-effective processes that support and promote the implementation of programs
  • Conduct internal and external research projects; support the development/ delivery of presentations / communications to management or broader audience
  • Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for respective business area(s)
