Woodworking CAD Designer

The Role

What Youll Do

Shop Approval Drawings

• Create detailed shop drawings for both client approval and production.
• Translate inspiration images into precise, manufacturable designs while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship.
• Ensure all drawings follow best practices for woodworking, materials, and hardware specifications.

3D Modeling Rendering

• Use SketchUp and rendering software to create accurate visualizations of projects.
• Ensure renderings reflect the correct finishes, materials, and manufacturing specifications for approval and production.

Manufacturing Integration CNC File Preparation

• Work with Mosaic Cabinet Division or similar cabinet software to generate production-ready files.
• Understand CNC manufacturing processes, including file writing and CAD integration, to streamline production.
• Optimize designs for efficiency and seamless production workflows.

Collaboration Communication

• Work closely with engineers, production teams, and clients to refine and perfect designs.
• Maintain organized documentation and track project approvals to ensure a smooth workflow.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to keep all stakeholders aligned throughout the design and manufacturing process.

Ideal Profile

What You Bring

• Proven expertise as a CAD Drafter in woodworking or high-end wood manufacturing.
• Advanced proficiency in CAD, SketchUp, and rendering software.
• Experience with Mosaic Cabinet Division or similar cabinet software is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of CNC manufacturing processes, file writing, and CAD integration.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, materials, and hardware specifications with precision.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
