Systems Administrator

This is a remote position.

SUMMARY

The Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the setup, maintenance, and support of systems and servers across the environment, including those located at client sites. The role involves technical support, system enhancements, and coordination with cross-functional IT teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Setting up, upgrading, and managing physical hardware such as servers, cabling, and racks, along with installing software for Windows-based platforms and services like printing.
  
• Administering and securing system backups using the DSR solution and overseeing anti-virus deployments for both client environments.
  
• Handling configuration and administration of Windows Server Active Directory, SharePoint Services, and Microsoft Office 365.
  
• Supporting the integration and maintenance of cloud-driven technology solutions.
  
• Conducting scheduled maintenance on Windows servers, applying system patches, reviewing logs, and managing data backup and restoration tasks.
  
• Offering second-level technical support to resolve system issues specific to Windows and collaborating with Help Desk and Infrastructure Teams to ensure timely resolutions.
  
• Gathering system performance data to assist in capacity planning and working closely with the IT Supervisor to create strategies that support enterprise-wide scalability.
  
• Creating and updating documentation outlining system procedures and standards.
  
• Providing technical guidance and input for Windows-based system needs in application implementation projects.
  
• Partnering with the Strategy, Planning, and Operations Team to assist with procurement planning, tracking project progress, and coordinating implementation efforts in a way that reduces disruption to live systems and initiatives.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelors degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), along with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, and certifications in MCSA and VMware OR;
  
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a current MCSA certification.
  
• Proven ability in managing Windows server environments and administering network systems.
  
• Strong understanding of modern server technologies, industry standards, and emerging best practices.
