Professional Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans and tender documentation
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis
• Oversee project financials from inception to final account
• Prepare cost estimates, valuations, and progress claims
• Perform contract administration and cost control throughout project lifecycle
• Liaise with contractors, clients, engineers, and architects
• Ensure compliance with construction laws, codes, and industry standards
• Produce detailed reports for stakeholders and make cost-saving recommendations

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor?s Degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc QS) or equivalent qualification
• Professional Registration as a PrQS with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) ? mandatory
• Valid registration with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) ? advantageous
• Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of JBCC, NEC, GCC and FIDIC contract suites
• Strong proficiency in QS software (e.g., WinQS, Candy, BuildSmart)
• Excellent understanding of SANS, NBR, and related local building legislation
• Valid driver?s licence and own reliable transport
