Accountant (JB5303) Bedfordview, Gauteng R25 000 to R45 000 a month Benefits: Medical Aid, Pension, Travel Allowance Permanent An exciting opportunity has opened up for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join the South African operations of a multinational organisation in the aviation and defence sector. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with South African tax regulations, and the overall financial health of the business. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, cross-border environment, providing valuable financial insights to leadership while managing all aspects of accounting operations Minimum Requirements: Own vehicle and valid Licence Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Professional certification (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA) preferred Minimum 4?6 years of accounting experience, preferably within South Africa Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation Proficiency in accounting software and Office 365 Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of defence procurement and government contracting procedures Experience in a multinational or cross-border environment (preferred) Exposure to B-BBEE compliance requirements (preferred) Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines (preferred) Security clearance or ability to obtain one (preferred) Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports Ensure compliance with SARS requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and other statutory returns Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations Maintain asset registers and manage depreciation schedules Process payroll or liaise with payroll service providers, ensuring compliance with labour laws Implement and maintain financial controls and accounting procedures Provide financial insights and recommendations to management Liaise with external service providers, including banks, auditors, and tax consultants Stay updated with South African financial regulations and best practices Capable of handling finance functions independently with minimal supervision Please do not apply using Scanned CVs, no supporting documentation is required at this point, this will be requested later.
