Contracts Manager Western Cape Job Summary: The Contracts Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and execution of civil infrastructure projects in the Western Cape. This leadership role requires extensive experience in civil engineering, specifically in bulk earthworks, roads and stormwater systems, road layer works, kerbs and channels, and bulk sewer reticulation. The Contracts Manager will manage technical staff, ensure project budgets and timelines are adhered to, and ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance are met throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a strong focus on resource management, cost control, and stakeholder communication. Key Responsibilities: ? Lead, manage, and develop technical staff to ensure smooth business operations. ? Provide accurate and timely resources and assets to support project implementation. ? Establish and manage budgets, control expenditures, and ensure efficient use of resources and assets. ? Analyse complex resource management issues and initiatives that impact the organization; prepare stakeholder reports and ? Approve costs, such as invoices, purchase orders, and final payment spreadsheets. ? Prepare and coordinate weekly activities, including meetings, procurement, revenue, and cost monitoring, and site visits. ? Direct and oversee all aspects of construction projects from start to finish, including scheduling and organizing workers? tasks ? Ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget by managing daily operations, including equipment ? Collaborate with the SHEQ Manager to develop and enforce safety standards, policies, and procedures for site activities. ? Ensure all required tests are conducted promptly for Quality Assurance. ? Ensure the correct commercial engagement of subcontractors, including rates and contract agreements. ? Complete and distribute the contract initiation and completion certificates for each project. ? Conduct weekly reviews of progress and budget resources, and forward planning to the Operations Director. ? Chair and participate in internal and external meetings, ensuring accurate records of discussions and actions are maintained. ? Ensure the timely management of both temporary and permanent designs to meet each project's requirements. Qualifications and Requirements: ? BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering. ? Registration with ECSA as a Professional Civil Engineer. ? Minimum 21 years relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects (bulk earthworks, roads and stormwater, road layer works, ? Completion of 8 similar housing development projects ? Having a personal vehicle will be an added advantage. |
