Project Manager (Future Managing Director) Tanzania Job Overview: Our client?s company is a leading player in the construction industry in Tanzania, specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects including dams, irrigation systems, road construction, and building developments. They are seeking a dynamic Project Manager with the potential to evolve into the Managing Director (MD) of the company. Job Summary: The Project Manager will oversee and manage the planning, execution, and completion of major infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on dams, irrigation systems, roads, and building constructions. This role involves strategic leadership, managing multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring high-quality standards, and meeting project deadlines and budgets. The Project Manager will work closely with the CEO and senior management, with the potential to transition into the role of Managing Director, responsible for driving the company?s strategic direction and growth in the long term. Key Responsibilities: ? Project Leadership: Lead and manage large infrastructure projects from inception to completion. Ensure all aspects of the project (scope, schedule, cost, quality) are effectively coordinated and delivered. ? Team Management: Build and lead cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Motivate teams and ensure optimal performance throughout the project lifecycle. ? Budget & Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, cost control, and resource allocation. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget. ? Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and government agencies. Represent the company in meetings, presentations, and negotiations. ? Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential project risks. Develop contingency plans to address any unforeseen issues. ? Quality Control: Ensure all construction and engineering works meet the highest quality standards and comply with local and international regulations. ? Strategic Input: Contribute to the company?s long-term strategic planning, including business development, market expansion, and profitability. ? Leadership Development: As the role transitions to MD, take on increasing responsibility for the overall management and growth of the company. Lead business development and innovation efforts, including identifying new projects, partnerships, and opportunities in the region. Qualifications & Requirements: ? Education: Bachelor?s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Master?s degree in a relevant discipline is a plus. ? Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership position in the construction industry (preferably in dams, irrigation, roads, or building constructions). ? Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing large-scale infrastructure projects and teams. Experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously. ? Leadership Skills: Strong ability to inspire, lead, and develop teams. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. ? Financial Acumen: Experience with project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting. ? Strong Communication: Fluent in English (both written and spoken). Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills. ? Visionary Leadership: Ability to understand and align with the company?s vision and growth strategy. A clear potential to transition into the Managing Director role.
