Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Land Cruiser Technician with a strong background in automotive electrical systems to join our team in Richards Bay. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles, particularly in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of Land Cruiser vehicles through expert troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnostic & Fault Finding: 

? Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot faults in electrical systems, including wiring, sensors, alternators, batteries, and ECU (Engine Control Unit) systems in Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles.

Electrical System Repairs: 

? Repair and replace faulty electrical components such as alternators, batteries, starters, wiring, and fuses, ensuring all systems are functioning efficiently and safely.

Routine Maintenance: 

? Conduct scheduled maintenance on electrical systems, including inspecting wiring, testing electrical circuits, and ensuring all components are in working order.

Software & ECU Reprogramming: 

? Perform software updates and ECU reprogramming as required for Land Cruiser vehicles to ensure the systems are up to date.

System Calibration & Testing: 

? Perform calibration and testing of vehicle electrical systems to meet manufacturer standards and specifications.

Customer Interaction: 

? Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicle?s electrical systems, explain repair processes, and provide maintenance advice.

Documentation: 

? Maintain accurate and detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and service history for each vehicle worked on.

Safety & Compliance: 

? Adhere to all safety procedures and standards to ensure a safe working environment while handling electrical systems and equipment.

Collaboration: 

? Work effectively with other team members and departments to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications:

Experience: 

? Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience as an automotive technician, with a focus on electrical systems in vehicles. Prior experience working specifically with Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles is highly preferred.

Certifications: 

? ASE certification or similar industry-recognized qualification in automotive electrical systems is preferred.

Knowledge: 

? Strong knowledge of electrical components and systems in Toyota Land Cruisers, including wiring diagrams, ECUs, alternators, batteries, sensors, and other critical electrical systems.

Technical Skills: 

? Proficient in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other equipment to troubleshoot and repair electrical faults.

Problem-Solving: 

? Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to accurately diagnose and repair complex electrical issues.

Communication Skills: 

? Ability to explain technical issues and repair procedures to customers in a clear and understandable manner.

Attention to Detail: 

? A strong eye for detail, ensuring that all repairs and diagnostics are completed to the highest standard.

Teamwork: 

? Ability to work collaboratively with other technicians and team members to provide effective and efficient service.

Licensing: 

? A valid driver?s license with a clean driving record is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

? Previous experience working with Toyota Land Cruiser models, especially newer models and their specific electrical systems.

? Knowledge of Toyota-specific diagnostic tools and software.

? Familiarity with off-road vehicle systems and specialized electrical components in 4x4 vehicles.

? Ability to work on hybrid or electric vehicle systems is a plus.
