We are seeking a Paralegal Assistant who will provide essential support to attorneys and paralegals in a law firm or legal department. The role will involve a variety of administrative, research, and clerical tasks to facilitate the efficient operation of legal processes and client services. You will assist with case management, document preparation, legal research, and client communication under the supervision of licensed attorneys and senior paralegals.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence, using word processing and legal software.
  • Format, proofread, and edit legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.
  • Assist with case file organization, maintenance, and documentation, including indexing, filing, and retrieval of legal documents and correspondence.
  • Coordinate court filings, document service, and delivery of legal notices, subpoenas, and discovery requests as directed by attorneys and paralegals.
  • Conduct legal research using online databases, case law libraries, and other resources to gather relevant statutes, regulations, and precedent for case preparation and strategy.
  • Summarize and analyze legal authorities, opinions, and findings to assist attorneys and paralegals in case evaluation, argument development, and client representation.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and third parties, managing communication, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Provide responsive and professional assistance to clients, addressing inquiries, providing status updates, and conveying attorney instructions and legal advice as appropriate.
  • Assist with calendar management, scheduling, and deadline tracking for attorney assignments, court appearances, and case-related events.
  • Prepare expense reports, time entries, and billing statements for client invoicing and accounting purposes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information, case details, and privileged communications in accordance with ethical standards and attorney-client privilege.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and procedural requirements, including court rules, filing deadlines, and document retention policies.

  • Bachelor''s degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies
  • Paralegal certificate or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a legal environment, law firm, or corporate legal department.
  • Proficiency in legal research methods, citation formats, and online research tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and legal software applications.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation processes.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team, demonstrating professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
  • CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the job is based.
  • Must be willing to submit up to a LEVEL II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint. Job offers are contingent on background/security investigation results.
