Job Skills / Requirements Site Description: Mackenzie Health's two hospitals - Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital and Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital - each have a full-service emergency department, core services and specialized services to provide you with the care you need. Our Woman and Child, Inpatient Mental Health and Inpatient Integrated Stroke programs are available to the community at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. An extensive range of outpatient clinics, chronic kidney disease care, complex continuing care and rehabilitation are available at Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital. Position: | Full-Time Security Guard Site: | Mackenzie Health Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours Hours: | 1**0 Payrate: | $ 18.73/hour Internal Posting Date: May 12, 2025 Internal Closing Date: May 19, 2025 External Closing Date: May 26, 2025 Schedule Example: • Week 1 - Monday to Friday • Week 2 - Monday to Friday • Week 3 - Monday to Friday • Week 4 - Monday to Friday This position is fully Outdoors. Candidates MUST be able to work outdoors and comfortable working in all weather conditions. Essential Job Functions: • This role will primarily be spent outside , supporting external operations and working alongside Parking leadership to execute a variety of external tasks • Supporting parking capacity pressures at the MH campus, supporting overflow procedure if and when required (redirecting parkers to available parking on campus, redirecting parkers to off-site locations based on guidance from Parking leadership) • Monitoring & reporting external conditions during a winter storm, and working alongside Parking leadership to ensure concerns are escalated accordingly • External rounding to collect wheelchairs & issuance of parking infractions to improperly parked vehicles • Providing customer service (offering wayfinding assistance to patients & visitors accessing the campus) • safety-related concerns to the Mackenzie Security team (motor vehicle, wild life on property, suspicious individuals, emergency codes, etc) • Assisting with blocking off parking spots, based on a request from Parking leadership, to support external projects or special events Skills & Qualifications: • Excellent oral, written communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with patients, visitors, and staff • Excellent organizational, time management problem-solving skills • Demonstrates ability to think proactively and to engage stakeholders accordingly • Demonstrates effectiveness at leading and working within a team setting, as well as working independently • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task / prioritize tasks effectively • Ability to communicate effectively during stressful situations Prerequisites: • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor) • Covid Vaccine two doses • Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test • English (oral and written) fluency is a must • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. • Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability • Legally authorized to work in Canada Additional Information / Benefits Benefits: Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Dental Insurance, Vision Insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Sick Days, Paid Holidays This job reports to the Client Service Manager This is a Part-Time position 1st Shift .
