We are recruiting for a Production Systems Engineer / Industrial Engineer on behalf of a leading employer in the automotive manufacturing sector, based in Kariega (Uitenhage)

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, process-focused environment and is looking to make a measurable impact on production systems at a strategic level.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Production Systems Engineer / Industrial Engineer , you'll be central to the rollout and coordination of Production System methodologies across the plant. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the implementation of lean manufacturing and shop floor management techniques.

  • Facilitating new model introductions, efficiency improvements, and cross-functional workshops (3P, value stream, problem-solving, etc.).

  • Supporting key digitalisation efforts across core manufacturing KPIs: Safety, Quality, Volume, People, Efficiency, and Cost.

  • Leading forums to embed sustainable production standards.

  • Coaching and supporting management on best practice implementation.

  • Contributing to global strategic planning and decision-making forums.

  • Championing continuous improvement and productivity innovation across production and non-production departments.

 

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • National Diploma in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, Operations Management, or a related technical discipline.

  • 3?5 years of experience in a production or industrial engineering role.

  • 2?3 years as a lead moderator in workshop environments.

  • Hands-on experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Solid knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Shop Floor Management.

  • Familiarity with work measurement, method studies, and industrial engineering tools.

  • Intermediate skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBi.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills.

Preferred (Advantageous):

  • Experience in project and administrative management.

  • Familiarity with production, logistics, and quality processes within a manufacturing/automotive environment.

Interview Process:
Initial 45-minute interview
Typically followed by a second technical interview
