Job Description

  • Drives the cloud engineering roadmap and strategy, ensuring delivery aligns with architectural standards, business needs, and future-state platform vision.
  • Leads automation and platform engineering efforts, implementing Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices using modern tooling and frameworks.
  • Oversees cloud and hybrid platforms (Azure, AWS, On-Prem data Centers) and partners with engineering and operations to build secure, reliable, scalable, and observable systems.
  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture to define standards and implement reusable reference patterns for cloud and infrastructure platforms.
  • Provides thought leadership on cost optimization, security posture, and architecture modernization.
  • Collaborates across business, infrastructure, and development teams to accelerate adoption of modern services and deliver business value.
  • Collaborate closely with change management processes to ensure all team changes are governed, communicated, and implemented with minimal disruption.

     
  • Owns and evolves the cloud engineering function, including cloud platform architecture, IaC module development, and deployment automation.
  • Directs automation strategy leveraging Terraform, Terragrunt, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Harness, and scripting (PowerShell, Python, YAML) to accelerate delivery.
  • Oversees design and implementation of DevSecOps toolchains and CI/CD frameworks supporting infrastructure and application deployments.
  • Enables cloud-native adoption, including container platforms (AKS, EKS), serverless architectures, and PaaS solutions, with a focus on performance and cost optimization.
  • Supports enterprise-wide AI/ML platform enablement, collaborating with data and platform teams on MLOps tools and infrastructure deployment strategies.
  • Provides guidance to engineering teams to ensure secure, highly available, and compliant cloud environments.
  • Supports hybrid infrastructure strategy by integrating on-prem technologies (e.g., Nutanix, VMware, physical compute) with cloud-native platforms for seamless workload mobility and unified management.
  • Oversees the lifecycle of on-prem storage platforms, ensuring alignment with performance, scalability, and business continuity requirements.
  • Partners with data center and platform operations teams to define transition paths from traditional infrastructure to cloud-enabled services.
  • Evaluates and integrates monitoring and observability tools to improve service availability, detect incidents early, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Partners with architecture and security teams to define and enforce policies for cloud governance, resilience, and risk management.
  • Supports the implementation of disaster recovery solutions and proactive incident response procedures.
  • Mentors cloud engineering talent and builds a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including architecture, networking, IAM, security, and automation.
  • Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Terragrunt), container orchestration (AKS, EKS), and CI/CD frameworks (GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Harness).
  • Solid scripting experience in PowerShell, Python, YAML, or similar languages.
  • Proven track record in building and supporting enterprise-grade cloud platforms with an emphasis on automation, security, and resiliency.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure, including model lifecycle management and MLOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with modern monitoring and observability stacks (Grafana, ELK, Datadog, App Insights).
  • Familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure platforms such as Nutanix, including cluster management, VM provisioning, and storage configuration.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise storage solutions and their integration with hybrid cloud workloads.
  • Experience with hybrid networking, site-to-site VPNs, and connectivity between on-prem and cloud environments (e.g., ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
  • Understanding of data replication, backup strategies, and DR models across both on-prem and cloud landscapes.
  • Knowledge of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow), cloud cost management, and compliance automation.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology strategies.
  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure/cloud engineering roles with at least 5 years in leadership or director-level positions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong customer and user experience
