Consultant ? SR&ED Technical Writer

? About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant – SR&ED Technical Writer to join our specialized team focused on Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax credits. Reporting to the SR&ED and Tax Incentives Leader, you will contribute to the analysis, drafting, and management of complex claims for clients primarily operating in the information technology sector.

This role will allow you to grow your technical skills and scientific writing autonomy, while directly contributing to the tax optimization of innovative projects.

? Your Responsibilities

Technical Analysis and Scientific Writing

• Participate in planning meetings with clients to understand the technical scope of their projects.

• Identify activities eligible for SR&ED tax credits based on the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) criteria.

• Draft clear, accurate, and compliant technical reports in accordance with fiscal requirements.

• Assist in preparing financial calculations and following up on claims.

Compliance and File Management

• Oversee all stages of the claim, from planning to final submission.

• Represent clients during technical reviews conducted by tax authorities.

• Contribute to technical research and stay up to date on relevant regulatory changes.

? Your Skills and Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (asset).

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical or scientific writing role related to R&D.

• Knowledge of SR&ED eligibility criteria.

Technical and Writing Skills

• Excellent command of French and English, both written and spoken to interact effectively with all our clients in Quebec and beyond.

• Strong writing skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Personal Qualities

• Strong analytical skills and intellectual curiosity.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

• Comfort interacting with technically savvy clients.

• Keen interest in innovation and new technologies.
