OPERATION MANAGER (Water Treatment)

Reporting to the Operations Director, this position is responsible for the overall plant / facility management, operations and maintenance, whilst ensuring optimal operational plant performance and product production in accordance with set KPI?s, product specification and quality conformance of the water treatment plant(s) within the area of responsibility. This position will be based in PE (Gqeberha).

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

• Oversee and manage respective Plant Supervisor(s), Production & Maintenance teams within the area of responsibility

• Manage production & maintenance team utilization and performance / output
• Responsible for plant performance and Compliance to contractual quality and quantity KPI?s
• Ensure compliance to company and Client safety standards
• Take accountability for Safety Performance in accordance with the MHSA/OSHA legal appointment.

• Maintain effective administration and control procedures to meet performance objectives, including financial control, HR/IR, procurement and stock management.

• Continuous improvement and optimization of processes
• Implement and maintain Financial Control with Profit & Loss accountability for the plant(s)
• Monitoring and detail records and reporting on all aspects of the processes, ongoing projects
• Ensure efficient resource management of employees to ensure they can meet the performance objectives required of them.

• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering a professional and high-quality service.
• Client feedback meetings and reporting as required
• Compile Plant Reports and attend client meetings as required
• Monitor plant health and pro-actively intervene to ensure plant availability is optimized
• Effective reporting to the Operations Manager of the area
• Perform plant operational standby duties

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Qualifications: B.Eng or BTech in Chemical Engineering (Chemical Engineering Qualification is preferred. Civil and Mechanical will be considered depending on relevant experience)

• Minimum of 5 years? experience in advanced water treatment.
• Experience in RO, UF, Precipitation, Clarification will be an advantage
• Previous experience in managing staff will be an advantage
• Understanding of plant health and managing water treatment assets.

• Computer skills: Word, Excel, data base, power point and e-mail
