CodingJobboard       |    Location:Remote       |    Country:United States Of America

Company Description

Welcome to the good side of tech

You might have heard about us but with a different name: Feegow, Doctoralia or Docplanner. The names are different depending on the country we are located in, but we are all part of Docplanner Group.

It all started over 12 years ago when we asked ourselves: is anyone in healthcare thinking about patients? We jumped in and we empowered patients by giving them access to leave and read reviews about their visit. We then provided doctors with the technology to manage bookings easily and save time, so they could devote themselves to what they always wanted: treating patients. And today is the day in which we ask you: wanna join us in the next step helping people live longer and healthier lives?

Where does Feegow fit here?

In 2022 Feegow joined the Docplanner Group, a health-tech company. We are dedicated to developing innovative solutions and promoting access to top-tier management for physicians seeking to take their practices to the next level, as well as managers in search of a robust solution that covers end-to-end operations. Our ultimate goal is to create a world where everyone can access high-quality healthcare.

Docplanner Group at scale

We are leaders in 13 countries so far, and more than 50 million patients trust us every month. 300.000+ specialists believe in us and our product, and so do leading venture capital funds such as Point Nine Capital, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and One Peak Partners. And yet, employing over 2.500 people all over the globe, we managed to keep the startup-mindset we started with over 12 years ago.

And why should you join us?

Because it feels good to tell your family and your friends how you made the world a little bit better. You go to bed knowing that what you do matters, and that your talents align with your beliefs.

We want to make the healthcare experience more human, and that starts with you being you. We believe that considering the diversity of human experience makes a better healthcare experience for all. We?re not just different: we embrace diversity. We will encourage you to come to work your whole self, and that includes not coming to the office at all if you prefer not to, as we're 100% remote-friendly. Hybrid model (RJ): If you live in RJ and the metropolitan region, you will work a few days in our office in Santo Cristo/RJ and from home (to be aligned with your leadership). Hybrid model (CWB): If you live in Curitiba and the metropolitan region, you will work a few days in our office in the center of Curitiba and from home (to be aligned with your leadership). Remote model: you will work 100% from home, but you will also be welcome in our offices in Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Staff Engineer to co-lead our modernization efforts, drive innovation, and play a key role in our product evolution. Your expertise in cloud technologies, legacy system migrations, and microservices will help modernize our architecture and enhance scalability, ensuring the continued growth of Feegow and Docplanner Group.

Role

As a Staff Engineer in this area, you?ll be fully responsible and accountable for leading impactful and complex cross-group and cross-area technical initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions with high operational standards. You?ll also actively partner with Engineering Managers and other tech counterparts to shape the direction of our area and the company as a whole. The role reports directly to the Engineering Director.

We are committed to continuous improvement, open feedback, and working efficiently towards our goals. This role provides an opportunity to actively contribute to the technical direction of the area.

Our tech stack at Docplanner Tech includes .Net, PHP, and Vue/React, running on Kubernetes in AWS. While expertise in these technologies isn?t required, this is a very technical and hands-on role, for which strong communication skills and experience influencing technical decisions are also essential to effectively support the teams.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and drive technical initiatives that impact area level directions (~5 teams).

  • Actively partner with your Engineering Manager / Tech lead counterparts and engineering teams, as well as working closely with the leaders of the area/company to develop an effective technical strategy.

  • Provide accountability for all the technical initiatives led.

  • Act as a point of reference for our Engineering teams.

  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and coaching inside the team.

Qualifications

You?re likely a great fit for this role if you:

  • Have a solid technical background related to the whole SDLC principles and practices (Agile/CD, Lean, SRE, DevOps) and can support and unblock engineering teams in complex technical discussions.

  • Legacy software modernization and migration: proven experience in modernizing and migrating legacy systems to modern architectures.

  • Approach software development with a lean, proactive, and positive mindset, balancing impact and long-term sustainable development, with a strong accountability for delivering high-quality solutions.

  • Have a strong experience in backend development with a holistic understanding of full-stack systems.

  • Experience in cross-team initiative and creating buy-in for technical initiatives.

  • Believe in continuous learning and improvement.

  • Have experience not only designing/implementing/delivering high-quality and impactful solutions, but also guiding and mentoring less experienced engineers.

Also Relevant for the role:

  • Domain Driven Design.

  • Expertise in AWS to help shaping our cloud infrastructure.

  • Ability to oversee database optimizations (MySQL) for scalable solutions.

  • Cloud-native architectures using microservices and serverless along with interaction styles, as synchronous and asynchronous communication, data streaming, and API technologies and lifecycle management.

  • Advanced English skills: comfortable communicating in written and verbal English across global teams.

Important: Docplanner is an international English-first company. Therefore, please be sure to send your CV in English
