Role Purpose:

We are seeking a driven and experienced External Sales Representative with a background in construction, plumbing, or bathroom supplies to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with clients, contractors, and key stakeholders within a designated region. This role requires a proactive, results-oriented individual who can identify new sales opportunities, deliver excellent customer service, and contribute to the company?s growth.

Requirements:

  • Proven sales experience in the construction, plumbing, bathroom or similar/related industry.
  • Understanding of plumbing materials, bathroom fixtures, and construction industry dynamics advantageous.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
  • Valid driver?s license and own reliable vehicle (travel within the region required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a technical qualification or sales certification is advantageous.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively seek out and engage new business opportunities within the designated region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, contractors, plumbers, developers, and project managers.
  • Promote and sell a wide range of products, including plumbing fittings, bathroom accessories, and related materials.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess customer needs, provide technical advice, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify new opportunities or threats.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, follow up on leads, and close deals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and delivery.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and other relevant networking events as required.
  • Submit regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
