houston, tx ESR Healthcare Principal Investigator - Archaeologist houston, tx Principal Investigator (Archaeologist), Archaeologist, CRM, Leadership, National Heritage Preservation Act, Antiquities Code of Texas, Prehistoric Archaeology   Experience level: Mid-senior   Experience required: 5 Years   Education level: Master’s degree   Job function: Engineering   Industry: Civil Engineering   Compensation:    Total position: 1   Relocation assistance: Limited assistance   Visa sponsorship eligibility: Yes   Position Summary:  Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) is responsible for scheduling and managing small to medium projects or co-managing large ones, serving as field lead for Phase I-III fieldwork, and conducting research associated with archaeological investigations. Responsible for writing portions of archaeological reports at the direction of the Senior Archeologist or Section Head. The qualified candidate for this position will oversee or assist in overseeing Phase I-III archaeological work in Texas and surrounding states. This position will have opportunities for growth and to aid in growing the JMT cultural resources group in Texas.

?Essential Functions and Responsibilities  Conducts archaeological field work with the ability to identify artifacts and determine the presence of archaeological sites Collects data and field samples during archaeological investigations Analyzes historic and pre-historic artifacts and features Documenting methodologies and findings of research and archaeological investigations Reviews and writes portions of archaeological reports and prepares archaeological site forms Assists in making decisions about project alternatives and the resolution of adverse effects to archaeological resources Works with technical field, lab and office staff, managers (Senior Archaeologist/Section Head) and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet JMT and professional quality standards May help with business development through assisting in the preparation of proposals, budgets, and other marketing materials Required Skills Strong written and oral communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel Required Experience Master’s Degree from an accredited school in anthropology or a closely related field Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archaeologists 5+ years of experience?(CRM experience preferred) At least 3 of those years need to involve leadership positions Familiarity with Section 106 of the National Heritage Preservation Act and with the Antiquities Code of Texas Ability to obtain a Texas Antiquities Permit Regional (Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana) experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology Demonstrated skills and supervisory experience in Phase I-III fieldwork Must be able to provide a writing sample from either a thesis, dissertation, or archaeological report Must possess a valid driver’s license Experience with Federal Agencies and Tribal Nations. The qualified applicant must provide a list of at least 3 professional references with contact information. Preferred Experience  Registered Professional Archaeologist (or ability to become registered) Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, ArcGISPro, Field Maps, Google Earth, ArcMap and/or other GIS programs Experience obtaining a Texas Antiquities Permit Significant lab and curation experience MUST HAVE: Master’s Degree from an accredited school in anthropology or a closely related field Must meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archaeologists 5+ years of experience?(CRM experience preferred) At least 3 of those years need to involve leadership positions.
