Technical Sales Representative Middle Market Location: Cape Town and surroundings (Western Cape) Industry: Chemical Manufacturing/Water Treatment | Experience: 5 years (relevant technical sales) Type: Full-time | Environment: Fast paced, high performance About the Role Our client, a Global leader in Chemical Manufacturing has a Technical Sales Representative position available in the Water Treatment division within the Middle Middle Market Industry, based in the Western Cape (Cape Town and surroundings). A Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and relevant technical sales experience in general water treatment industry required. What You?ll Be Doing Account Management - Ensure sustainability and growth of a specific account/accounts by conducting the following activities Sales development into target market - Retain and expand business to grow sales and profit margins to achieve business objectives Technical Services - Ensure existing applications and equipment are maintained and technical services are performed to ensure optimal performance Marketing support - Ensure that the sales efforts are aligned with the marketing strategy SHERQ Management - Maintain and improve SHERQ performance to deliver targeted sales at the lowest possible risk to the company. Continuous Improvement and Project Management Support - Support the Account Manager in identifying, managing and implementing Continuous Improvements and Projects Accurate chemical application to cooling water systems, liquid solid separation, boiler water systems and other chemical application as required Laboratory and on site chemical evaluation related to chemical performance in water systems and liquid solid separation Accurate interpretation of water chemistry related to chemical application 100% continuity of chemical supply, inclusive of deliveries and housekeeping. Strict adherence/compliance with customer standards/required results, chemical and plant related. Accurate budget and general administration What You?ll Need Degree or Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Chemistry/ Biochemistry / Microbiology / Metallurgy / Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years relevant technical sales experience with relevant tertiary chemical qualification, or 10 years relevant experience. 2 years? experience in a sales & service environment related to the general water treatment industry. Experience in polymer application to solid/liquid separation will be an added advantage. Must have dealt with customers on a direct contact basis Must have written service reports and discussed them in-depth with the customer Must have done internal service inspections of related equipment at customer? sites Must have conducted site meetings/discussions with all levels of customers on site, - from Engineer to operator. Valid driver's license MS Office Suite What?s In It for You Basic Salary : R25 000 pm (negotiable based on experience and the right skills set) Travel Allowance : This allowance is salary band based (approximately R14 000 pm) Cell Phone allowance: R450 pm 3G / Broadband allowance: R428 pm 13th Cheque / Discretionary Performance Bonus equal to the basic salary Medical Aid: Company to contribute 50% of the Discovery Essential Saver plan and employee contributes 50% - (assuming that this will cover the member, spouse and up to 3 kids) Medical Aid Gap Cover ? of R373 pm (being company cost to take care of associates medical costs in cases where the cost for in-hospital procedures or outpatient treatment exceeds the base medical aid rate) Provident fund: Company to contribute 7.5% of basic salary and employee is required to contribute a minimum of 7.5%. The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively, must be physically fit and able to work alone at physically challenging plants on surface .
