Position Summary **Financial Support for Moving Expenses is available for this position ** Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team at The Lakes District Hospital. Under the direction of the Unit/Program Manager or designate and in collaboration as a member of a multidisciplinary team, performs assessments, plans, and provides personal care, and performs nursing procedures. The LPN functions in accordance with the competency guidelines and scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and according to agency operating policies and standards and unit specific protocols. Shift Rotation/Hours of work: : Days, Nights - 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, Rotating The Lakes District Hospital is a 16-bed facility that sees an average of 12,000 ER visits per year. The services include: • Diagnostic Imaging • Laboratory • Pharmacy • Rehabilitation Services • Palliative Care • Acute Care • Public Health • Home and Community Care Burns Lake is located in the heart of the Lakes District, an area boasting over 4800 kilometers of lake shoreline. The village has a diverse population of 2,000 residents and serves a surrounding area of approximately 13,000 residents of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako. With two of the six local First Nations communities located within municipal boundaries, Burns Lake has a strong sense of culture and incredible local talents to showcase. Housing in Burns Lake is very affordable, including lakefront property! There are two K-7 schools, a K-9, a 8-12 and a 10-12 public school within the Lakes District Area. Additionally, there are two Independent Mennonite schools and one College of New Caledonia campus within the community. It is centrally located between Smithers (1.5 hrs) and Prince George (2.5 hours) for ease of access to airports VIA Rail serves Burns Lake year round and stops right in the centre of Burns Lake's downtown core. Skills and Abilities: • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, co-workers, members of the multidisciplinary team and the public. • Ability to deal with others effectively. • Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care. • Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BCCNM including administering medications. • Ability to operate related equipment. • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
