Purpose of the Role

The Sales Executive will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring optimal in-store execution across key retail partners in Johannesburg. This role requires a proactive individual with strong commercial acumen, exceptional organisational skills, and a passion for delivering results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets while managing budgets effectively.

  • Maintain a call rate of eight visits per day, ensuring strategic pre-call planning and preparation.

  • Drive execution excellence through effective stock management, merchandising, shelf compliance, and in-store visibility.

  • Build strong relationships with store managers, regional managers, and key stakeholders to maximise shelf space and promotional opportunities.

  • Negotiate in-store displays, promotional activities, and retail pricing strategies.

  • Monitor and report on promotional performance, sales trends, and market dynamics.

  • Collaborate with merchandising partners and oversee in-store execution standards.

  • Provide weekly and monthly sales performance reports with actionable insights for underperforming stores.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards for product presentation, pricing, and promotional materials.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in FMCG field sales or retail account management.

  • Strong project management and organisational skills.

  • Confident, assertive, and results-driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and thrive under pressure.

  • Strong understanding of retail operations, consumer behaviour, and market trends.

  • Proficiency in using digital reporting tools or tablets for call and data tracking.
