We?re recruiting an Automotive Data Analyst to join a fast-paced Product Development division, supporting local and international engineering teams, managing technical data, and driving the accuracy of vehicle specifications across systems.

 

What You Will Do (Core Responsibilities)

1. Bill-of-Materials (BOM) & Technical Data Management

  • Create, analyse, and maintain detailed BOMs using Technical Product Descriptions and Vehicle PR specifications.

  • Validate design levels with global & local engineering teams to ensure accuracy.

  • Coordinate with production and logistics to support material readiness for builds.

  • Perform weekly BOM consistency checks using PASTA and correct any deviations.

  • Prepare documentation for engineering changes (ÄKOs, AWEs, ECRs) and manage release orders.

  • Establish and maintain prototype vehicle parts lists and BOM databases for special builds.

 

2. Engineering Systems & Project Data Control

  • Manage MBT system data, including defining and maintaining PR numbers aligned to project and customer requirements.

  • Collaborate with sales, logistics, project management, and product data teams to ensure PR structures are correct and up to date.

  • Support the integration of technical rules and part validity across systems.

  • Develop and maintain sales offer programs and assign model keys.

  • Conduct buildability studies, support APS (Product Safety) processes, and perform vehicle comparisons for market investigations.

  • Represent South African engineering teams in global technical forums and data alignment discussions.

 

What You Need to Bring

  • A relevant 3-year qualification (Engineering, Logistics, or IT).

  • 5+ years? experience in automotive data management or a highly technical automotive environment.

  • Strong analytical ability and advanced problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in core engineering systems: TIS, MBT, AVON, MBV, KVS, Connect, TI-REX, CoRe, COPS.

  • Ability to interpret engineering change documentation and technical specifications.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present confidently to various stakeholders.

  • Strong teamwork, leadership capability and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required).

  • Ability to work independently in high-pressure environments with tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed.

 

Added Advantage

  • Experience with procedure and work-instruction development.

  • In-depth knowledge of local vehicle models, systems and configurations.

  • Intermediate German language skills.

 

Relocation costs will be covered if moving from out of town
