As the Owner?s Representative for Sudan, you will oversee both shipping and logistics operations, ensuring strong agency performance, commercial growth, and consistent service delivery. You will guide business development initiatives, drive financial and operational outcomes, and represent the organisation in a market rich with growth potential. This role requires a decisive, commercially minded leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys working across diverse functions and cultures.

What You?ll Do

  • Oversee and monitor appointed agencies for shipping and logistics services, ensuring strong customer engagement
  • Supervise agency KPIs, sales and marketing activities, and revenue generation
  • Drive office profitability and support continuous business development
  • Develop and implement marketing and operational plans, achieving commercial and operational targets
  • Supervise vessel and land fleet operations, scheduling, productivity, and cost efficiency
  • Manage and grow the company?s shipping and logistics business in the region, strengthening client and agent relationships
  • Track port and terminal developments in Sudan
  • Monitor competitor activities and market intelligence
  • Assess new business opportunities, support studies and project analysis
  • Prepare budgets and ensure sound financial control within the Owner?s Office
  • Drive day-to-day sales, customer service, and operations performance
  • Anticipate challenges and provide proactive commercial and operational solutions
  • Manage working capital, cash flow, and debtor controls
  • Lead and deliver business strategies, KPIs, and P&L responsibilities
  • Optimise processes, drive standardisation, and align operations to regional best practices
  • Lead, coach, and develop the local team, building capability and enhancing leadership effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with tax, regulatory, labour, and corporate governance requirements

What You Bring

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field
  • 8+ years? experience in the logistics sector with proven commercial results
  • Minimum 10 years? commercial and leadership experience in container or liner shipping
  • Strong P&L management capability and understanding of emerging markets
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment, port, and terminal operations
  • Functional expertise in air, ocean, and land transport, and contract logistics
  • Strong strategic planning skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution
  • Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills
  • Fluent English with strong communication and interpersonal ability
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
  • Experience in sub-Saharan Africa is advantageous
  • Ability to assume the role on short notice
