Employment Status Union - CUPE Local 402 - Temporary Full-Time Scope Park Facility Operations is hiring for a temporary full-time position from January to April 2026, working 40 hours per week with the potential for extension. In this role, you'll assist with the cleaning and maintenance of various park structures, helping keep our parks beautiful and accessible for everyone. Responsibilities • Perform manual and semi-skilled cleaning and maintenance tasks to park structures including: - Park buildings maintenance and repair - Staircases and boardwalks - Park shelters and picnic tables • Demonstrate safe work practices. • Possess excellent teamwork skills and have the ability to communicate effectively, particularly when dealing with the public. • Have knowledge and skill in the methods and equipment used in the maintenance of various park structures. • Complete heavy physical work in all weather conditions, requiring sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination. Qualifications • Completion of Grade 12. Some relevant experience and training. • Have a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with a safe driving record. • Hands-on experience with related tools and equipment is preferred. • Related construction and maintenance experience are considered assets. Other Information Number of Job Openings: 1 Pay Grade: Schedule C Hourly Rate: $29.89 (2024 rate) Conditions of Employment This position requires completion of a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
