REQUIREMENTS Affirmative Action South African citizen N.Dip/ B.Tech/ B.Eng/ B.Sc Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics Engineering A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an automotive engine management environment Experience with powertrain management systems, vehicle emission control systems, vehicle emissions legislation Experience with the testing of powertrain systems and data analysis using measurement equipment ESSENTIAL SKILLS Familiarity with engines, powertrain systems and powertrain-related engineering concepts Specialised computer literacy, including engine management, diagnostics and simulation tools such as (but not limited to) ODIS Engineering, INCA, ASCMO, Silver Synopsis, MATLAB Simulink, and DiagRA Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook) Strong report writing, analytical and presentation skills Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills Competence in project management and the ability to plan, execute and track technical projects Systematic/ methodical and scientific approach to problem-solving Capability in risk identification, analysis and mitigation planning Ability to monitor project progress, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards Code 08 driver?s licence RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the in-house capability of development, testing and corrective actions on electronic powertrain (engine and transmission) management systems used by the group, to group and world emission legislation standards Conducting engine management calibration, testing and release functions, both locally and internationally, to ensure a well-engineered product to group standards Conduct engine application on the test benches and in vehicles by modifying relevant parameters, recording measured variables, and evaluating their effects to determine optimal parameter configurations for performance, emissions and hardware protection Evaluate vehicle behaviour and conduct engine management calibration by preparing test vehicles, executing procedures and reporting findings to support system development and fault diagnosis Coordinate the installation of engine management test equipment (e.g. temperature and pressure sensors, control unit measurement tools) into both EVs and ICE vehicles, ensuring full system functionality and test accuracy Analyse and process test data using specialised software (INCA and DiagRA) to produce insights supporting application changes and software release decisions Represent product development in cross-divisional and corporate forums, contributing to discussions, negotiations and presentations to align development goals, timing and cost considerations Support the production, pilot hall and product development series support teams in escalating and resolving software or component issues during pre-series and series builds to prevent line stoppages and ensure production continuity Support the product development series support team with the investigation and resolution of field quality and warranty issues related to powertrain software and components, minimising customer complaints and protecting brand reputation ..

Essential Functions

1. Process and verify incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
2. Prepare and send invoices to clients, following up on outstanding payments as necessary.
3. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all accounts receivable transactions.
4. Collaborate with the sales and customer service departments to resolve billing issues and improve customer satisfaction.
5. Ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
6. Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status for review by the finance manager.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to accounts receivable to improve efficiency and reduce outstanding receivables.
8. Support the finance department with other tasks and projects as needed.
9. Handle and count cash drawer daily.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Required Education and Experience
  • Recent A/R experience (within the past 3 years) which includes posting payments to the G/L
  • Experience processing virtual/verbal credit card payments through a third-party website which includes posting them to the G/L
  • Experience Imaging customer checks to the Bank imaging system
  • Experience with weekly/monthly/bi-monthly billing
  • Experience Managing a digital filing system using Adobe pdf. files and Microsoft print to pdf.
  • Experience Calling on customer accounts for 90-day collections
  • Experience with Excel?Expert
  • Experience with 10-key calculator
  • Great phone etiquette
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to meet crucial deadlines on a daily basis

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
