Technical Designer Location: New York, NY | On-site | Full-Time Overview A growing apparel company is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Designer to support the development of high-quality women?s products. This role is responsible for translating creative concepts into production-ready garments through precise technical specifications, fit execution, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and product lifecycle management, along with the ability to problem-solve and maintain brand standards throughout development. Key Responsibilities Technical Development Create and maintain comprehensive tech packs, including sketches, measurements, grading, and construction details Develop and document BOMs, packaging specifications (care/content labels, carton markings, fold/hanger packs, UPCs, etc.) Fit & Garment Construction Lead and participate in fit sessions on live models Evaluate fit and communicate adjustments to ensure design integrity, comfort, and functionality Sample & Production Review Partner with pattern makers and manufacturers to review prototypes and pre-production samples Ensure all samples meet fit, quality, and design standards Problem Solving Identify and resolve construction and development issues throughout the product lifecycle Provide solutions that balance aesthetic, functional, and cost considerations Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with design, product development, and production teams Ensure alignment with brand standards, timelines, and cost targets Materials & Construction Expertise Apply knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction techniques to support product intent Quality Assurance Support the development and enforcement of quality standards Ensure consistency in durability, comfort, and overall product performance Qualifications Education Bachelor?s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field Experience 3?5 years of technical design experience within the apparel industry Experience with women?s products required; outerwear or activewear experience is a plus Technical Skills Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern-making, and fit analysis Core Competencies High attention to detail, especially in measurements and grading Strong communication skills for cross-functional and vendor collaboration Proactive problem-solving and analytical thinking Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Paid holidays (including select religious holidays) Commuter benefits ..

Essential Functions

1. Process and verify incoming payments, ensuring accuracy in transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
2. Prepare and send invoices to clients, following up on outstanding payments as necessary.
3. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all accounts receivable transactions.

6. Generate reports detailing accounts receivable status for review by the finance manager.

Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and typical work hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


Required Education and Experience
  • Recent A/R experience (within the past 3 years) which includes posting payments to the G/L
  • Experience processing virtual/verbal credit card payments through a third-party website which includes posting them to the G/L
  • Experience Imaging customer checks to the Bank imaging system
  • Experience with weekly/monthly/bi-monthly billing
  • Experience Managing a digital filing system using Adobe pdf. files and Microsoft print to pdf.
  • Experience Calling on customer accounts for 90-day collections
  • Experience with Excel?Expert
  • Experience with 10-key calculator
  • Great phone etiquette
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to meet crucial deadlines on a daily basis

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
? Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
? Must have a valid driver's license.
