Framingham, MA, USA ESR Healthcare MySQL DBA (Database Administrator) framingham, MA (Onsite) Mode- Full Time   Must-Have:        5-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration. In-depth knowledge of MySQL versions 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4.  Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases to ensure their operational efficiency.  Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security. Monitor database performance and proactively address potential issues or bottlenecks. Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization.

Implement security measures in line with compliance standards and best practices. Work with software developers to optimize queries and improve database design. Solid understanding of Unix/Linux system administration related to MySQL. Proficiency in writing complex shell scripting for automation.

Good communication skills with both technical and management teams Good-to-Have: Expertise in all major versions of MySQL including Oracle and MariaDB. Expertise of maintenance/patching mechanics. Experience in database security auditing and compliance. Familiarity with Ansible, Terraform tools for database deployment automation.

Hands on Linux and Windows system administration experience is a plus. MySQL and Cloud certifications are preferred. Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management procedures.  Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role: The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and troubleshooting of MySQL databases across various versions (including MySQL 5.5, 5.6, 5.7, 8 and 8.4). The candidate should have experience working in high-availability environments and demonstrate strong skills in automation, security, and compliance.

Perform periodic maintenance / patching as required  Monitor database performance and perform proactive tuning. Tune database performance and execute backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and security. Define and implement best practices and automation initiatives. Lead database migration projects (on-prem to cloud / version upgrades).

Work directly with a senior cybersecurity specialist to support day-to-day security operations and projects
Create and update critical documentation like policies, procedures, and incident playbooks
