THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
This position is responsible for leading the safety transformation within the Central Region by creating the strategies to support the company vision to be the safest contractor in the markets we serve. The Regional Safety Manager will lead and manage a team of 20+ safety professionals including developing, implementing, and driving the Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs for the Central Region.
Coaching and Teaming - Ability to proactively assess the safety climate via observations, audit trend analysis, and investigation key issues. Communicate and make appropriate recommendations to management for needed work process improvements or corrective actions.
Education, Training and Program Development - Ability to lead organizational change to continuously improve OS&H work processes, systems and programs and to attain organizational goals and objectives for HSE performance and compliance.
Motivation - Ability to create a climate for people to do their best. Motivate many kinds of team and project members. Assess personal needs and use it to get the best result out of another person. Empower others to take charge of their own actions. Make others feel their work is important.
Safety Subject Matter Expert - Advanced comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health knowledge of H&M internal policies, procedures and processes and OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations. Ability to assess work place hazards, determine the risks and provide solutions in an efficient, timely and cost-effective manner. Ability to work independently (self-managed with the ability to set goals and objectives) and on teams (leadership and/or participation) with very little supervision. Act as the primary interface with regulatory agencies on HSE matters.

Ensure safety is operationalized & integrated in all work, constantly driving to make sure that best practices are identified and shared across all Lines of Business.
Work within the organization so that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and in-line with the company's strategy.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental.
Accredited in safety, including OSHA 30-hour and First Aid/CPR, OSHA Instructor.
Minimum of 10 years of experience leading a team of safety professionals.
Completely understand the business, the context, and manages implications related to HSE.
Ability to work independently (self-managed with the ability to set goals and objectives) and on teams (leadership and/or participation) with very little supervision.
Promotes continuous improvement in performance through training and program enhancements.
Ability to lead organizational change to continuously improve HSE work processes, systems and programs and to attain organizational goals and objectives for HSE performance and compliance
Advanced comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health knowledge of H&M internal policies, procedures and processes and OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations
Effective oral presentation, report writing, and other written communication skills.
Skilled in operations of desktop and data based computer software (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Publisher and Excel)
Ability to travel overnight 75% of the time.
