CNC Programmer

We are seeking an experienced CNC lathe programmer with 10+ years of experience and proficiency in Mastercam and/or ESPRIT programming software. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, working closely with the production manager, quality department, and operators. Experience in CNC programming and job shop settings is essential, with a strong potential for relocation if the candidate is a perfect fit. Immediate availability and readiness to join is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop machining processes and programs for the manufacturing of products in multi-axis lathes, mills, wire EDM, and swiss machines, while interfacing with tool engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and production personnel.

• Analyze part drawings, specs, and design data to determine dimensions and configurations of cuts, select cutting tools, and set machine speeds and feeds, applying knowledge of machine shop processes.

• Perform debugging and testing of CNC programs in machining lathes and mills.

• Develop and maintain CNC programs for multi-axis lathes and mills using Mastercam.

• Prepare, store, and maintain program files in the database system.

• Write instruction sheets and tool lists to guide setup and operation of the lathes and mills.

• Assist in the training of production operators on the use of new CNC machine control and tools, with the potential to move into a management role.

• Conduct cutting tool evaluations, cost analysis, and new technology implementation; analyze tooling failures.

• Maintain status reports on program availability in a timely manner.

• Cycle Time Reduction: Adjust feeds and speeds, reduce machine movements, and evaluate better tooling solutions.

• Machining gear blanks and other parts, inspecting parts to ensure they meet print and specification requirements.

• Aid in job setups and maintain a clean work environment, performing preventive maintenance as necessary.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in programming and operating multi-axis lathes (including Y-axis for milling) and Swiss machines.

• Must have experience in CNC programming, specifically with Mastercam or ESPRIT software.

• Job shop experience is a must.

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

• Proficient in reading and operating calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and a variety of other hand tools for part inspection.

• G-code and M-code programming experience.

• CMM programming (Zeiss Calypso) is a plus.

• EDM Wire experience is a plus.

• Solidworks experience for generating tooling/drawings is a plus.

• Ability to relocate if an ideal candidate.

• Must have a CNC programming background, regardless of the field, and should have strong experience in training others with the possibility to grow into a management role.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $120,000 per year, with yearly bonus potential.
