As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate submission of medical claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all billing regulations, and working with both patients and insurers to resolve billing issues. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of healthcare billing codes, insurance procedures, and excellent organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately process and submit claims to insurance companies (including Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurers).
Review and verify patient insurance information, ensuring proper coverage details for each claim.
Code medical procedures, diagnoses, and services according to the latest medical billing and coding standards.
Work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing discrepancies and denied claims.
Handle patient billing inquiries and provide assistance in understanding charges, co-pays, and payment plans.
Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations regarding sensitive healthcare information.
Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and account balances.
Assist with follow-up on overdue accounts and payment collections, ensuring timely payments.
Stay updated on the latest coding and billing guidelines, as well as any changes in insurance policies.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in medical billing, coding.
Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
Familiarity with insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance providers.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with medical billing software and basic computer skills (MS Office, Excel).
Certification in medical billing (e.g., Certified Professional Coder – CPC) is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with Medisoft.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality.
