The Role:      

The Exercise Specialist is responsible for developing a safe and effective exercise program for our senior population, to increase their mobility and functionality, also to create reports that measure patients’ progress in all areas related to the program and classes. 

 
What You’ll Do:

Health by Design is seeking a part-time Exercise Specialist to join our dynamic team at our clinic located in Schertz, Texas.  This clinic cares for a truly unique patient population of retired First Responders. We are seeking an individual who would be available approximately 6-hours a week, leading 3, 2-hour classes.  Our current schedule is Mondays from 2:00pm-4:00pm, Tuesdays from 9:30am-11:30am and Fridays from 9:30am-11:30am. We do have some flexibility with the schedule, as long as classes are between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm.  We offer a beautiful clinic environment, and the opportunity to work with a special group of people!  Ready to make an impact? Duties/Responsibilities:

Develop mobility, balance, strength, stretching and functionality classes 
Create and deliver classes that increase mobility and functionality
Ability to connect with a senior population
Evaluate patients to determine specific needs
 Create and maintain reports that measure patients’ and program success and progress
Consult with all members of the Clinical Care team patients’ progress
Maintain accurate records of class schedule and attendance at each class
Assist with promotion of classes
Create and maintain a contact plan with patients to encourage participation 

 
What You’ll Bring:

Education and Experience:
Master or bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science 
2-4 years’ recent experience

 
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) 

 
Required Skills/Abilities
Ability to create and teach exercise classes for patients
Great attention to detail
Deep knowledge of movement systems
Ability to sympathize with patients
Great interpersonal skills
