Position Overview

The Lead Consultant – IBM Sterling OMS will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing end-to-end Order Management System (OMS) solutions using IBM Sterling OMS.
This role involves optimizing order capture, fulfillment, inventory visibility, and reverse logistics within complex, omnichannel retail and e-commerce environments.
The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise, architectural thinking, and leadership capabilities to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design

Architect and design comprehensive Order Management solutions using IBM Sterling OMS.

Develop architectural blueprints aligning with enterprise IT strategy and digital transformation goals.

Integrate OMS with enterprise systems including e-commerce, POS, WMS, payment processors, ERP, and CRM.

Prepare and review detailed High-Level and Low-Level Design documents.

Implementation & Integration

Lead implementation, upgrade, and customization of Sterling OMS components (pipelines, participant models, order routing, inventory).

Drive integration initiatives with ERP, CRM, tax, and logistics systems.

Ensure the designed solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry best practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and technical leads to translate business needs into functional designs.

Act as the key liaison between business and technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Ensure timely delivery of solutions and alignment with client requirements.

Technical Leadership

Mentor and guide development and QA teams.

Review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with architectural standards.

Promote Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong, hands-on experience with IBM Sterling OMS design, customization, and migration.

Expertise in Order Hub, Call Center, SOM applications, and DTK setup.

Proven experience integrating OMS with ERP, CRM, WMS, tax, and payment platforms.

Experience in AWS-based deployments, Docker, and Kubernetes environments.

Proficiency in Agile development tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Bitbucket.

Excellent communication, documentation, analytical, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in retail or e-commerce environments.

Familiarity with microservices architectures and API-based integration.

Exposure to DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and cloud-native practices.
