Sales & Costing Engineer

Job Title: Sales & Costing Engineer
Location: Chakan, Maharashtra, India
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities
Cost Estimation and Proposal Development:
Analyse client/tender specifications to prepare accurate technical and commercial proposals.
Prepare detailed bills of quantity (BOQ) and cost estimates for projects.
Calculate costs based on material, labour, and other project requirements.

Design and Engineering:
Design low-voltage (LV) panels such as PCC, MCC, APFC, and control panels.
Create single-line diagrams (SLD), general arrangement (GA) drawings, and wiring diagrams using software like AutoCAD.
Select appropriate electrical components (e.g., ACB, MCCB, MCB, relays, VFDs) based on load calculations and technical requirements.
Ensure designs are cost-effective, safe, and optimise space.

Coordination and Collaboration:
Liaise with procurement, sales, quality, and production teams.
Coordinate with vendors to get competitive quotations for components.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to ensure feasible and cost-effective solutions.

Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain updated costing databases and component libraries.
Ensure designs and proposals comply with industry standards like IS and IEC.
Prepare and manage project documentation, such as enquiry lists and quotation lists.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of electrical panel design and switchgear components.
Expertise in costing, estimation, and BOQ preparation.
Proficiency with design and costing software like AutoCAD and Excel.
Understanding of electrical power distribution principles.

Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with other teams.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in the electrical manufacturing sector, especially with LV panels, is often required.
