About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Akamai Onshore Lead based in Canada to lead and manage CDN-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as the primary onshore point of contact, oversee offshore Akamai teams, and ensure high-quality delivery, reporting, and collaboration across geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the overall Akamai Lead from Canada

Lead and manage offshore Akamai/CDN teams

Oversee CDN design, implementation, and optimization activities

Ensure adherence to performance, security, and scalability best practices

Prepare and present weekly status reports to stakeholders

Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile delivery environment

Mandatory Technical Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Akamai CDN

Experience with GCP Cloud CDN

In-depth understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, caching headers, and content optimization

Knowledge of CDN security best practices including TLS, WAF, and bot mitigation

Good-to-Have Skills

Hands-on experience with SEO tools (preferred)

Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (preferred)

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills for effective onsite–offshore coordination

Strong leadership and team management capabilities

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

Proactive team player with a problem-solving mindset

Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery models

Additional Details

Proposed Vendor Rate: CAD 110 – 120 per hour

Background Check: Post onboarding

Shift Requirements: No (standard daylight working hours only)
