Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aveva PI Historian Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in PI AF development, PI Vision display development, and industrial data integration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting Aveva PI solutions that enable real-time operational intelligence across industrial environments.

The engineer will work extensively on Aveva OSI PI architecture and functionality, developing scalable use cases such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM). This role requires the ability to create reusable AF templates using PI AF for multiple industrial scenarios and to develop intuitive, high-performing visualizations using PI Vision, including custom object integration.

Key responsibilities include integrating PI system data using RTQP, PI OLEDB Enterprise, PI OLEDB Provider, and PI ODBC, as well as supporting and administering PI System components and data access services. The role also involves application customization using PI SDK, PI AF SDK, Visual Studio .NET, Angular, and MS SQL.

The candidate should possess strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and reporting. Exposure to control automation systems is considered an added advantage. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and distributed teams.

Required Experience and Qualifications

8+ years of overall experience

4–6 years of hands-on experience with Aveva / OSIsoft PI integrations

Strong understanding of Aveva OSI PI architecture and industrial use cases

Proven experience in PI AF template creation and PI Vision development

Strong SQL capabilities

Good to Have

Control automation experience

Experience with industrial manufacturing or process environments
