THE OPPORTUNITY

A well-established and growing used car dealership group based in Hull is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician and Class 4 MOT Tester to join their busy workshop team. This is a productivity-driven role in a high-volume vehicle preparation centre. The business offers consistent workflow, modern equipment, and a structured earnings model that rewards performance.

THE ROLE

Working within a team of four experienced mechanics across five fully operational bays, your key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct Class 4 MOT tests in full compliance with DVSA regulations
- Carry out servicing, maintenance, and pre-sale vehicle inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently using provided diagnostic equipment
- Complete repairs accurately and within productivity targets
- Maintain detailed and compliant vehicle documentation
- Contribute to team productivity goals — working towards and exceeding targets

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Essential:
- Class 4 MOT Licence: valid and current — essential for this role
- Experience: 7-10 years as a Vehicle Technician across servicing, repairs, and diagnostics
- Diagnostics: confident diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults independently
- Full UK Driving Licence: required
- Own tools: candidates must supply their own tool kit
- Productivity focused: comfortable working in a target-driven dealership environment

Desirable:
- Experience in a used car dealership or vehicle preparation centre
- Familiarity with a broad range of vehicle makes and models
- Experience with current-generation diagnostic software platforms

WHAT'S ON OFFER

- Base rate of £14.50 per hour, with OTE up to £17.50 per hour
- Performance bonus: +£2/hour at 110% productivity, +£3/hour at 120% productivity
- All current technicians consistently achieving top-end OTE
- Monday to Friday: 08:30-17:30 (1-hour lunch)
- Every second Saturday: 08:30-12:30
