Position Summary
SBG is seeking an Associate Project Manager to join our growing team. This role provides an opportunity for professional growth within the organization, combining hands-on site supervision with involvement in project estimating, scheduling, and coordination. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate, assign, and supervise construction site activities to ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, schedules, and established procedures.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify deficiencies, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of subcontractors, trades, and on-site personnel to ensure productivity and adherence to project timelines.
Resolve technical and operational issues on-site by liaising with engineers, project managers, consultants, and trades.
Develop, update, and maintain construction schedules, ensuring efficient sequencing and coordination of all site activities.
Monitor materials, labour, and resource usage, and assist in controlling project costs to meet budgetary objectives.
Coordinate procurement and delivery of construction materials to ensure alignment with project schedules and specifications.
Inspect completed work to verify compliance with project requirements, drawings, and quality standards.
Enforce workplace health and safety regulations, conduct site safety meetings, and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
Prepare and maintain site reports, including progress updates, incident reports, and documentation of project activities.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects in collaboration with senior project management.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 3–5 years of Institutional construction experience in a site supervision or assistant project management role (field operations, not office).
Proven experience with trade coordination, order of operations, and construction sequencing.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and materials.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with project management or scheduling software is an asset.
Valid G driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel to multiple project sites.
Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
Certifications in WHMIS, Working at Heights, and First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
Note: The interview process includes a site-based practical assessment (up to 3 hours).

Competitive salary: $72,500–$80,000 per year, based on experience.
