Functional Analyst

Position Overview

The Functional Analyst will support enterprise workforce scheduling and healthcare operational systems by providing application ownership, systems analysis, configuration management, integration support, and end-user assistance. This role requires strong expertise in healthcare scheduling platforms, enterprise applications, and business process analysis within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will possess deep functional knowledge of scheduling and HR systems, strong analytical and documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end users to ensure system reliability, operational efficiency, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Scheduling System Administration & Support
Maintain and support Clairvia for Nursing, including report generation, security administration, and daily system updates.
Provide configuration expertise and functional support for Oracle Cloud Scheduling and workforce management systems.
Manage user access, role assignments, and application security configurations.
Data Integration & System Coordination
Monitor and maintain daily HR data imports from PeopleSoft and related enterprise systems.
Manage integrations between enterprise applications including Epic, PointClickCare, Oracle Cloud, and workforce scheduling systems.
Coordinate with Enterprise IT Services (EITS) during SQL server maintenance, Epic upgrades, downtime events, and infrastructure updates.
Application Lifecycle Management
Lead assessment, design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise applications.
Analyze and differentiate business requirements from user requests to recommend scalable technical solutions.
Support full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) activities including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation
Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and workflow analysis sessions to gather business and technical requirements.
Develop detailed functional specifications, technical documentation, process flows, conceptual data models, and system diagrams.
Create and maintain project documentation, release notes, user guides, and training materials.
Testing, Quality Assurance & Issue Resolution
Lead all phases of testing including system testing, integration testing, defect management, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Develop test plans, testing scenarios, validation scripts, and quality assurance documentation.
Troubleshoot application defects, resolve production issues, and coordinate remediation efforts with technical teams and vendors.
End-User Support & Training
Provide ongoing application support to end users and operational teams.
Deliver training sessions and mentoring support to junior analysts and staff members.
Respond to system inquiries, analyze support tickets, and ensure timely issue resolution.

Familiarity with NYC Health + Hospitals systems and operational workflows.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong facilitation and stakeholder management capabilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and operational teams.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in:
Computer Science
Systems Engineering
Mathematics
Business Administration
Or related field
Minimum:
5 years of progressive experience in data processing, enterprise applications, or systems analysis
3 years of formal requirements gathering experience including stakeholder interviews, workflow analysis, and business workshops
Healthcare experience preferred.
